How to Mount a Plasma Screen to a Wall

Maximizing the appearance of a flat panel TV revolves around wall mounting the set. For plasma owners, this requires a few common tools and a solid wall. Whether slim, articulating or a simple tilt mount, the procedures are the same.

Instructions

Getting the Hang of It

    1

Locate two adjacent studs on the chosen wall, using the stud finder. Mark these locations with the wall bracket and a pencil, denoting no fewer than four possible bolt locations.

    2

Attach the TV side of the bracket to the plasma, using the supplied screws and appropriate screwdriver.

    3

Drill the marked locations on the wall, using the drill and 3/16-inch bit. Ensure the center of the stud is hit with the bit.

    4

Attach the wall plate to the wall, using the supplied lag bolts, washers and the socket wrench with appropriate-sized insert.

    5

Recruit an assistant to lift and hang the set on the wall.

    6

Level the set using a level and the leveling adjustment screw on the mount.
