How to Mount a Plasma Screen to a Wall
Maximizing the appearance of a flat panel TV revolves around wall mounting the set. For plasma owners, this requires a few common tools and a solid wall. Whether slim, articulating or a simple tilt mount, the procedures are the same.
Instructions
Getting the Hang of It
- 1
Locate two adjacent studs on the chosen wall, using the stud finder. Mark these locations with the wall bracket and a pencil, denoting no fewer than four possible bolt locations.
2Attach the TV side of the bracket to the plasma, using the supplied screws and appropriate screwdriver.
3Drill the marked locations on the wall, using the drill and 3/16-inch bit. Ensure the center of the stud is hit with the bit.
4Attach the wall plate to the wall, using the supplied lag bolts, washers and the socket wrench with appropriate-sized insert.
5Recruit an assistant to lift and hang the set on the wall.
6Level the set using a level and the leveling adjustment screw on the mount.
