How to Install an Articulating Wall Mount for Your LCD

Articulating wall mounts for liquid crystal televisions offer a degree of motion, including swivel and tilt. This is extremely convenient when the set must be installed in a corner or offer visibility to a wide range of angles in a larger space. Installing these mounts isn't much different than installing a standard bracket. Once completed, the articulation can help everyone get a good view of the television.

Instructions

    1

Locate two studs on the designated mounting wall using the stud finder. Mark these locations with the tip of the drill bit.

    2

Place the wall bracket half of the articulating mount against the wall, aligned with the studs.

    3

Drill through at least four of the bolt holes on the bracket, using the 3/16-inch drill bit.

    4

Slide an included lag bolt and washer through each drilled hole, through the bracket and into the studs.

    5

Tighten each bolt with the ratchet/socket set. Use the level to perfect the mounting orientation prior to tightening fully.

    6

Place the television bracket portion of the mount on the back of the set so it is aligned with the threaded receiving inserts.

    7

Drive an included Allen bolt and washer through four of the holes on the television bracket and into the threaded inserts. Tighten each with the included hex key.

    8

Lift the set onto the wall bracket, so that the hooks on the television bracket clamps over the wall bracket's mounting bar.

    9

Tighten any set screws on the mounting clamps to prevent unwanted lateral shifting of the television when the mount is articulated.
