How to Install an Articulating Wall Mount for Your LCD
Articulating wall mounts for liquid crystal televisions offer a degree of motion, including swivel and tilt. This is extremely convenient when the set must be installed in a corner or offer visibility to a wide range of angles in a larger space. Installing these mounts isn't much different than installing a standard bracket. Once completed, the articulation can help everyone get a good view of the television.
Instructions
- 1
Locate two studs on the designated mounting wall using the stud finder. Mark these locations with the tip of the drill bit.
2Place the wall bracket half of the articulating mount against the wall, aligned with the studs.
3Drill through at least four of the bolt holes on the bracket, using the 3/16-inch drill bit.
4Slide an included lag bolt and washer through each drilled hole, through the bracket and into the studs.
5Tighten each bolt with the ratchet/socket set. Use the level to perfect the mounting orientation prior to tightening fully.
6Place the television bracket portion of the mount on the back of the set so it is aligned with the threaded receiving inserts.
7Drive an included Allen bolt and washer through four of the holes on the television bracket and into the threaded inserts. Tighten each with the included hex key.
8Lift the set onto the wall bracket, so that the hooks on the television bracket clamps over the wall bracket's mounting bar.
9Tighten any set screws on the mounting clamps to prevent unwanted lateral shifting of the television when the mount is articulated.
