How to Decorate a Wall Mount Television
You can decorate around your wall mounted TV to incorporate it into your decor instead of having it stand out. If you, like many people, don't wish to have your TV become the focal point of your room, there are various ways to decorate around it that will enhance your decor. Look around the rest of your room to get a sense of your style and keep the overall color scheme or theme of the room in mind when deciding which route to take to decorate around the TV.
Instructions
- 1
Paint the wall behind your TV. If the TV is on the main wall in the room, you can paint a colorful square behind the TV to frame it or paint a striped pattern into the wall so the TV doesn't stand out as much. If it's not the focal point, you can still paint a border around the TV if you want.
2Hang floating shelves around the TV or place a small media shelving unit beneath the TV. Shelving space will provide a place for decorative accessories as well as house other media pieces such as a receiver or DVD player. For example, floating shelves in black, white or silver add to a contemporary decor.
3Frame the television with pictures or artwork. Keep the pictures simple, such as black-and-white prints with black frames, so the pictures don't detract from the TV when it's being viewed but still add to the decor. Mirrors can also be used. Any arrangement you choose should be comparable in size to the TV so the arrangement balances the TV and doesn't get "lost" on the wall.
4Add accessories to the shelves such as large vases or an arrangement of three big pillar candles (groupings in odd numbers tend to be more pleasing visually). Smaller knickknacks will get lost beside a large TV, so use items that are hefty enough to balance out the TV.
