How to Flush Mount LCD TVs
Installing a flush mount TV to the wall requires mounting the wall plate to the wall using two wall studs to support the TV's weight. The flat screen TV connects to the TV mounting bracket through VESA connections. VESA connections are screw holes standardized on the backs of flat screen TVs, and mounts connect to those holes with machine screws. After the bracket is connected to the TV, you then hang the bracket on its wall plate portion.
Instructions
- 1
Run a stud finder across the wall until you locate a stud. Continue to use the stud finder to map out the size of the stud and the direction it runs under the wall. Use a pencil to draw an outline of the stud so you know exactly where it is later on.
2Hold the wall plate flat across the wall so the mounting holes lie over the wall studs. The mounting kit comes with lag bolts. Insert a lag bolt through each mounting hole and tighten it into the stud with a wrench.
3Align the holes of the TV bracket with the VESA holes on the rear of the TV, and use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the VESA screws to secure the bracket to the TV.
4Lift the TV with the TV bracket facing the wall, and bring it to the wall plate. Position the hooks of the TV bracket in their correct positions on the wall plate. Insert the security screw inside the bracket, and use a Philips screwdriver to tighten it in place.
