How to Mount a Sony Bravia Flat Screen on a Swivel
Swivel TV wall mounts give your TV a greater viewing angle compared to a traditional wall mount. The swivel arm can extend outward to bring the TV screen closer to you, retract backwards to set it flush against the wall, or swivel left to right so the TV can be viewed from either side. Your TV connects to the swivel mount through VESA connections, which are the little screw holes on the back of your TV. VESA connections are specifically designed to connect your TV to a wall mount. Using a swivel mount to display your Sony Bravia gives you both style and function.
Instructions
- 1
Use a stud finder to find a vertical wall stud where you want to mount your Sony Bravia. After locating the wall stud, draw an outline of the stud on the drywall so you remember its location.
2Hold the mounting plate against the wall. Insert the lag bolts that came with your wall mount through the mounting holes and tighten them into the wall stud with a wrench. The mounting plate and the TV plate look a lot alike -- they both have flat plates with bracket arms extending from the back. However, the mounting plate has larger holes that are located on the outside corners of the plate, while the holes on the face plate are small and are centered on the plate.
3Position the TV so you can easily access the back. Place the TV plate on the back of the TV and insert the VESA screws through the VESA holes into the TV and tighten with a Philips screwdriver.
4Lift the TV and align the extendable arms of the faceplate and TV together. Fit the security bolt through the two arms and tighten a nut onto the bolt with a wrench. Have a friend help you with aligning the arms and attaching the security screw and bolt.
