How to Hang a Wall Mount for a Tube Television
You can mount an older tube- or CRT-style television to a wall in your house by using an appropriate wall mount. A wall mount will need to be properly placed on the wall by first measuring the distance from the floor and the ceiling with a tape measure. You can then gather all of the parts and tools needed to complete the installation of the wall mount.
Instructions
- 1
Locate the stud in the wall using a stud finder and mark the location with a pencil.
2Set the mounting plate on the wall so that it is over the stud.
3Mark the location of the screw holes on the wall with a pencil.
4Drill pilot holes in the wall and into the stud using the power drill. You should drill the holes at least 2 inches deep into the stud.
5Set the mounting plate over the holes on the wall and insert the bolts.
6Tighten the bolts with the socket wrench.
7Attach the swivel arm to the mounting plate and insert the pivot bolt into the hinge.
8Tighten the pivot bolt using a wrench.
