Check the temperature of your fireplace. If you are mounting your TV to a brick wall above the fireplace, start a fire in the fireplace and get the fire as hot as you safely can. Give the fireplace and hour to heat up and place a thermometer against the brick where you want to mount the TV. If the temperature is higher than 90 degrees, do not mount your TV to that fireplace.
2Hold the wall plate against the brick wall and mark out the mounting holes with a pencil. Remove the wall plate from the wall and drill the holes out using a masonry drill bit. Insert wall anchors in the holes.
3Hold the wall plate to the wall so that the mounting holes match up with the wall anchors. Insert the lug bolts that come with the mounting kit and tighten them inside the wall anchors with a wrench.
4Place the mounting bracket up against the back of the TV. The mounting brackets and the back of the TV have VESA holes. Line the VESA holes up and insert the VESA screws through the brackets into the TV. Take the TV over to the wall plate and unite the brackets with the connections on the wall plate. Insert the necessary security screws and tighten them with a Phillips screwdriver.
